M-SPORT SUPPORT IRISH RALLYING WITH PRIZE DRIVE

M-Sport is happy to announce its support of next year’s Clonakilty Blackpudding Irish Tarmac Rally Championship. The Northern English firm recognises the hard work and dedication of both organisers and competitors, and will support the 2016 edition with a prize drive in an M-Sport prepared Ford Fiesta R5.

Ireland has a long and illustrious rally pedigree, producing exciting new talent year on year. To this end, M-Sport is keen to strengthen its links across the Irish Sea – re-establishing Ford’s ‘Ladder of Opportunity’ with a fantastic prospect for the top Fiesta drivers.

If a Ford Fiesta R5 secures the championship laurels in 2016, M-Sport will provide the winning crew with a prize drive on a round of the 2017 British Rally Championship – piloting an M-Sport prepared Fiesta R5.

The incentive aims to encourage Ireland’s latest crop of drivers to further their respective careers. Progressing through the ranks with M-Sport’s range of global Ford Fiesta rally cars, the prize will allow Ireland’s best to build strong links with the Cumbrian firm and vice versa.

M-Sport has always been at the forefront when it comes to fostering undiscovered talent, and the proposed prize aims to discover the best of what Irish rallying has to offer.

M-Sport Managing Director, Malcolm Wilson OBE, said:

“I’m pleased to announce that we will be supporting the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship next year. The organisers have worked extremely hard on their plans for 2016 and Ireland is renowned for having one of the biggest rally communities in the world.

“The prize drive we are offering will hopefully provide an incentive for the Ford Fiesta drivers to push the limits and achieve their goals. We’re always looking for fresh new talent, and I believe Ireland has the potential to offer a lot in that aspect.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what the season has in store, and to hopefully discovering a potential future star.”
