Cadwell Park Beckons For Anvil Hire TAG Kawasaki
This weekend see’s the eighth round of the MCE British Superbike Championship roll into Lincolnshire for the annual party in the park, at the famous Cadwell Park circuit.
Cadwell Park is famous for close and fast racing, with the combination of fast and flowing corners, with the tight and twisty woodland section thrown in for good measure to really test the riders. But the mountain is really where all the action happens, the only place you can see a fully-fledged British Superbike airborne in racing action.
For this weekend, the Anvil Hire TAG Kawasaki team will be a two man team for the first time all season, after parting company with Richard Cooper last week. Filip Backlund is itching to return to action and to a circuit in which he favors. Last time out the Swede had a positive weekend, despite nearly crashing in race two and riding round a problem to take a solid 15th place. 22 year old Shaun Winfield is on the hunt for his first points of the season, after imporving further three weeks ago at Thruxton.
Ahead of the weekend Team Manager Steve Randle said: “The whole team are reinvigorated after the three week break and is fully focused ahead of Cadwell.
“We know it’s a big weekend for the team, but we’re fully confident that Filip and Shaun are up to the task and can bring home two good results come race two on Sunday. Cadwell is a tough circuit, but one we know our riders like.”
Excited about returning to racing at Cadwell Park, Filip Backlund added: “I’m eager to get back out on the bike again now after a few weeks break since Thruxton. We didn’t leave Thruxton with the results I think we could of achieved, so this weekend at Cadwell I’m out for revenge.”
Finally Shaun Winfield said: “After a really positive round at Thruxton, where we improved a lot, I’m really excited about getting to Cadwell now. It’s a circuit in which i like, and I’m excited to carry on the form we generated at the pervious round and pick up my first points of the season.”
